Since 2020 there have been a lot of things that I thought I would never see. Global lockdowns, Toilet paper hoarding, Aluminum can shortages and many more but I always figured the Gaming industry was safe and that gamers were built for the lockdowns.
Today though I found out about the Graphix card shortage. Sounds ridiculous doesn't it? Well according to BBC it is a real thing! BBC Artivle
The worst part about this is that people are buying up cards when they are available and selling them for nearly triple the cost.
Unfortunately I decided upon today to build another gaming PC and after spec'ng it out I found that any type of card that was even close to what I wanted was not available.
The only thing that I could do was go direct to my card brand of choice and reserve one. The stipulations were that only one card can be purchased per household, they will e-mail you when the card is available to you and you have 8 hours from the time you were emailed to claim your card or you go to the back of the line.
Absolutely INSANE!
